A friend and I co-owned a house in Seagrove Beach, Florida for ten years. In early spring, 2014, we decided to sell the house. We listed it with the agent who worked with us when we bought this house. The house was listed in March, and we were completely disappointed with the lack of attention she gave to selling the property. We didn’t hear from her except for when we contacted her to ask if there had been showings, interest, etc. We asked for her advice about getting the house ready to sell and were discouraged from painting, making even small improvements. When the contract ended, we didn’t renew it. The morning that the information hit the MLS, I had a number of calls from agents who were interested in working with us. The first call early that morning was from Laurie Hollowell. She asked many questions and said she’d like to take a look at the house. We met with Laurie and Jim Meeker and with other agents that same week, but the meeting with Jim and Laurie was first. They looked at the house and Jim took notes as he looked. Then we talked, and Jim outlined what he thought would be the best plan of action to interest buyers and to sell the house as quickly as possible. Not only did he and Laurie say what they thought needed to be done, but they also suggested people and businesses that might do parts of the work or offer better prices for things that were needed. We met with other agents, but selected Jim and Laurie, and their attention for the next few months was perfect. One if not both of them checked in weekly at the very least. They followed up on their suggestions with actions. We worked with many of their contacts and their own landscaper worked for us in the yard. Jim and I had many conversations about the work being done, and they were quick to respond to calls, emails, and texts. They met me at the house a number of times during the process of renovation. The house was listed in January and it sold in the spring. We couldn’t have been happier with anyone than we were with the Jim and Laurie team. We have since listed other properties with them and continued to find the same level of interest in our properties, and commitment to us.
