Making the greens larger was one of the changes in the 2014 renovations.

The course underwent a complete renovation in 2014. This renovation was overseen by the course architect, Bob Koop. He returned to Destin to oversee one of his most challenging and beautifully designed golf courses. Many of the holes have narrow fairways and some require target precision to set up your second shot. You will find 90° dog legs and in several holes the water must be contended with. The real estate and homes that line the golf course are absolutely stunning. They are set back off the fairways enough to give the homes privacy and not to disturb the beauty of the golf course.

The renovated Emerald Bay clubhouse offers a full-service golf pro shop with a huge selection of golf apparel and equipment. You will always find the knowledgeable staff on hand to answer your questions. The Grille offers a full bar, delicious food, indoor dining, and an outdoor covered porch with a fireplace overlooking the 18th green.  In the wintertime, this makes for a great place to relax, have a drink and food next to the fire, and watch people finish up their round of golf.  In the summertime you often find a cool breeze blowing from the Gulf of Mexico to cool things down.
