Destin Name Top 25 Destination

First Quarterly Gain Freddi Mac

This quarter marks the first quarterly gain for Freddie Mac in 2 years. Since the bail out in 2008, which cost the American public over an estimated $250 billion, Freddie Mac has been losing money. The US government is now it largest investor. However , this may be an early indicator of a positive change in the real estate market.

Though there is still a large inventory of unsold homes and a high number of distressed sales that are forcing prices down, this gain is seen as moving in the right direction.

Consumers Agree – It Is A Good Time To Buy

A recent Spending and Saving Tracking from AMEX indicates that about 41% of Americans believe that we are in a buyer’s market. With the inventory on the market, it is easy to see that it is a buyer’s market.

The same study indicated that 61% of American agree that a seller’s market is at least a year away.

Is Florida The Sleeping Giant of Gambling

It has been rumored and discussed for years that Florida has been a target for gambling. And with the recent addition of the international airport in Panama City Beach, the Emerald Coast is a prime spot for gambling.

Will gambling be the answer to the current economy in Florida? My guess is that it will certainly give a boost to the economy and to the housing market.

Here is a quote from a recent article in the NWF Daily news:

“Florida is a sleeping giant,” said Franklin, executive director of the Tunica, Miss., Convention and Visitors Bureau. “It’s already the largest tourism attraction on the East Coast, so when you add that element to it, it’s just that much more money that would be put into the Florida economy.”
